Simply put, your respiratory system consists of three parts: the nose and nasal passages, the trachea and bronchi, and the lungs.
Air enters the respiratory system through the nostrils where it is warmed, filtered, and moistened. The nasal passages are lined with a membrane that secretes a sticky fluid called mucus.
